This is the theme that made a two-man CRS team stand out over 16 other regional units of the Community Relations Service nationwide.

In so short a time, BJMP-MIMAROPA has disproved what many others always invoke as excuse to falling short of effective implementation of BJMP’s programs. In fact, the region’s CRS team has done way beyond what is expected of so limited manpower.

February alone set the record. A project that was meant to reintroduce BJMP to the community brought 13 inmates out of jail and sent them out for community service. However way the regional office convinced the court to issue clearance on the inmates’ getting out for a day is a charm of SSUPT TALENTO and JO2 Myra Mangaring.

That day, 50 people were given free haircut, 140 free massage, and 93 free blood pressure check up. The inmates’ brief freedom brought smiles to a total of 283 souls and to hundreds more faces as the inmates drew attention at the crowded Odiongan Childrens’ Park in Romblon. It is a positive indication that BJMP’s participation and involvement in community service are a potent remedy to progressively eliminating the stigma attached to being cast behind bars.

Another notable initiative of the region was the conduct of a seminar on Expanded Senior Citizens Act to elderly inmates, distribution of wallet-size operations manual for personnel and their consistent coordination with local chief executives of the region.

BJMP – MIMAROPA is undoubtedly an archipelago of hardly accessible islands but this did nothing to abate the fervent commitment and dedication of BJMP MIMAROPA to establish a significant beginning of good community relations.

These accomplishments of the region for the Month of February were verified, carefully evaluated and compared with the accomplishments of other regions.
